The Heroic Cello and Sultry Nights with "Scheherazade"

Tuscarawas County is rich in musical talent – such as Dover’s Sawyer Thomson. A cellist since age 11 in the Dover string program, now off to Indiana University, Sawyer returns to make his debut as soloist with the Tuscarawas Philharmonic in the Dvorak Cello Concerto. Also from the orchestra—a beloved masterpiece—Rimsky-Korsakov’s exotic Scheherazade.
