In all the excitement of the Philharmonic’s 75th anniversary last season, we missed the bicentennial of the great Romantic composer Robert Schumann.  Pianist Maira Liliestedt, of the University of Mount Union, will bring her virtuosic flair and delicate lyricism to Franz Liszt’s stunning Piano Concerto No. 1 in Eb.  The orchestra's programming will include works of two other centenarians—William Schuman's New England Triptych, and Robert Schumann's celebration of the Rhine River in his spirited Third Symphony, the "Rhenish."
